The Portuguese gambling regulator, Serviço Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos do Turismo de Portugal (SRIJ), has revealed record online revenue for the seventh quarter in a row, thanks to casino and sports betting growth.
A year of negotiations look set to conclude with bills to legalise online gaming and sports betting passing into law in Michigan, after the Senate passed Representative Brandt Iden’s proposals by significant margins.
The District Court for Prague 1 has ruled in favour of the Czech Republic government in a long-running legal battle with land-based casino operator Casino Kartáč over online roulette. This had seen the operator look to recoup CZK6.9bn in estimated lost revenue, after a 2006 request to launch online games was rejected.
Spain’s regulated online gaming market has reported a 5.4% year-on-year increase in gross gaming revenue for the third quarter of 2019, with the growth of online casino again supported by the recovery of the sports betting vertical.
The gross gambling yield of the British gambling industry declined 0.3% year-on-year to £14.36bn in the year ending 31 March 2019, as remote gambling revenue fell 0.6% to £5.3bn despite higher stakes, according to new figures from the GB Gambling Commission.
