Luckbox announces David Sargeant in advisory role

24 January 2018

Esports betting startup Luckbox has announced igaming innovation expert David Sargeant as an adviser.

London-based Sargeant has worked in the industry for more than 16 years. He works as an innovation consultant with brands including Betstars, Ladbrokes and Unibet.

Luckbox is aiming to be a dominant player in esports betting when it launches later this year, with high-level compliance and acceptance of cryptocurrencies among its key features.

Sargeant is a well-known figure in the gambling industry and has experience deploying strategies for a variety of products across the globe.

Luckbox is among the brands to join his startup incubator iGaming Ideas, which helps new gaming businesses reach market with support and seed funding.

Sargeant said: “Luckbox is an exciting project with great potential and an amazing team. They are tackling head on the challenges that the igaming industry needs to take notice of. Luckbox will be targeted at the esports generation with products and styles of engagement those consumers understand.

“Hyper-social games, esports betting, and crypto and skin payments, but all in a regulated environment. That might be enough buzz words to make the average bookies eyes bleed, but the team have the skills and the passion to actually deliver. Luckbox is the future.”

Luckbox’s founders say the platform will comply with the highest licensing requirements in all the territories it operates in, offering player security and safety badly lacking in the esports betting area at the moment.

The aim is to be licensed in the Isle of Man, with a global roll-out to follow. Being compliant will allow a full-scale marketing operation and access to mobile app stores.

Luckbox will also allow players to deposit with cryptocurrencies and in-game items, which they say opens up massive markets currently restricted by payment blockages.

Luckbox CEO Lars Lien said: “Having David involved is amazing for our project. He is hugely respected in the industry with so many valuable contacts.

“He has already played a huge part in shaping the infrastructure of the project and helping us get good people involved. As we prepare for the final stages of our ICO and beyond, that knowledge and skills will be vital to us.”
