West Brom signs up Sportego as fantasy sports partner
English Premier League football club West Bromwich Albion has entered into a partnership with fantasy sports provider Sportego.
The one-year deal will run for the duration of the 2015-16 season.
Under the agreement, Sportego will serve as the club’s official fantasy partner and develop a West Brom-themed fantasy football mobile application.
Developed through its FanFed.co.uk product, ‘WBA Fantasy 5’ will be available to download to iPhone and Android devices.
“The club have already shown they are very forwarding by looking through other initiatives and we are delighted they recognise the opportunity to strengthen their relationship with their fans as well as helping to entice more into their fold,” Sportego founder and chief executive Trevor Keane said.
“We’re excited to help them continue to raise their club’s awareness, both in and out of the Stadium through interactive offerings, helping to drive fantasy gaming in the Premier League overall.”
George Harborne, head of partnerships at West Brom added: “Securing Sportego as our first official fantasy Pprtner is a real coup in what is becoming an increasingly active and competitive market.
“Trevor and his team immediately understood the objectives of the Club and us theirs, for a partnership, which we are both very much looking forward to delivering and developing.”
