Unikrn set for expansion into US e-sports betting market
Rahul Sood, co-founder of start-up operator Unikrn, has revealed the company’s intention to expand its service offering into the yet-to-be legalised US e-sports betting market.
As reported by iGaming Business, the gaming, s-sports and entertainment firm last month announced plans to launch its Unikrn Arena platform in the UK.
In partnership with Tabcorp and its Luxbet platform, Unikrn Arena enables users to access online betting services for events and tournaments in eSports.
Unikrn, which this year also launched its platform in Australia, could now be set for further expansion into the US after Sood confirmed that the operator is in the process of developing a version of its service for the regional market.
Although betting on e-sports is currently not legal in the US, Sood has predicted that such activities will be regulated within the next two years or so.
“When you look at the way e-sports is going, there is a huge audience out there for it,” Sood told the AFP news agency.
“We believe there is no better way to heighten the experience than through betting.”
