Australia’s UBET has rolled out a new digital product to allow customers to place wagers on their mobile phone at betting shops.

Punters are able to build a bet on their phone, after which they will receive a unique code that they can scan at terminals to receive a payout in cash.

In addition, customers will have access to a number of promotions that are not available through the traditional UBET retail service.

TAPPY will be accessible at UBET sites in Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Northern Territory.

However, punters that opt against the new ‘TAPPY’ service can still fill out paper slips for their wagers.

According to the Australian Associated Press, Brad Tamer, head of customer experience at UBET, said: “This gives our customers a choice between betting in the traditional way with a ticket or a more contemporary process akin to betting digitally.

“For those who choose TAPPY, gone will be the frustrations of wet tickets, pencil droughts and endless searches for proposition numbers, only to be replaced with a quicker, easier process to bet in cash.

“TAPPY makes the retail betting process much easier for customers, particularly when placing exotics, multis and live bets, which previously meant filling out a multi-faceted ticket.”
