Svenska Spel has signed a four-year extension to a deal with International Game Technology (IGT) in an effort to bolster its range of interactive poker products.

Under the agreement, IGT will enhance the Swedish firm’s multichannel suite of poker games across desktop, mobile and tablet with a new graphical interface, new game formats and tournament variations.

IGT will introduce its US patent-pending ‘Poker Challenge’ tournament format as well as ‘Character-Based Cash Tables’.

“For a decade now, Svenska Spel has successfully worked with IGT to offer the Swedish public a fun and safe interactive poker product,” Svenska Spel chief executive Lennart Käll said.

“Choosing partners with innovative, marketing-leading products is essential to responsibly meeting our customers’ needs.”

Declan Harkin, senior vice-president and chief operating officer at IGT International, added: “By leveraging industry best practices and our experience as a successful B2C operator in the Italian interactive market, IGT's enhanced multichannel suite of interactive poker products will help Svenska Spel to reach a broader player base.”
