New daily fantasy sports (DFS) brand Sportito has scrapped salary caps and other restrictions in its contests in a bid to entice more players into the sector.

Operating under an official licence from the UK Gambling Commission, Sportito’s daily fantasy football games will allow players to win real-money prizes every day, with entrance fees starting at £2.

Players will be able to withdraw winning at any point during the season, while users will not be limited by salary caps traditionally found in DFS contests.

In addition, new players can opt to take part in free-to-enter competitions before joining one of the thousands of paid-for leagues available through desktop and mobile devices.

Sportito covers more than 40 football leagues, including all major tournaments, as well as second-tier domestic club competitions.

Riccardo Mittiga of Sportito said: “Fantasy sports is growing in Europe, but not as much attention has been given to it there in comparison with the US.

“We want to provide a quality platform to become the top-rated daily fantasy sports platform.

“What sets us apart is that we aim to protect new customers from experienced players, we pay great attention to customer service, we will offer more social networking features, and we feature more sports than any other provider in Europe.”

Sportito, which launched last month, also plans to expand its service by adding competitions for other sports such as rugby, volleyball, motorsport, basketball, baseball and American football.

The operator is also seeking licences in other markets around Europe and is in talks with authorities in Italy, as well as countries that can be targeted through a Maltese licence.
