SNAI is to become the first gambling operator in Italy to offer e-sports betting services after securing a deal with Betradar.

Under the agreement, Betradar, the sports betting and data brand of Sportradar, will integrate its new ‘eSports Betting Service’ into the new product line of SNAI.

Customers in the country will be able to place both pre-match and in-play bets on major e-sports contests involving games such as ‘Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’, ‘League of Legends’ and ‘Dota 2’.

SNAI will also benefit from Betradar’s ongoing partnership with e-sports firm Electronic Sports League, through which the Italian operator will receive up-to-date data and information on e-sports contests.

“Betting on e-sports, for sure, will play a key role in the future of sports betting and no bookmaker can afford to ignore it,” SNAI chief executive Fabio Schiavolin said.

“With the integration of packages of products and services provided by Betradar, not only have we expanded our offering, but we also have the ability to respond to market developments and new targets.”

Lorenzo Caci, director of sales at Sportradar, added: “We expect betting on e-sports to be just at the very beginning, but its already seeing incredible growth.

“It’s the fast-changing and wide-ranging spectrum of e-sport games with their inherent quick-fire mode engine that opens up staggering possibilities for sportsbooks in terms of betting markets and frequency.

“As one of the first bookmakers to have integrated our e-Sports Betting Service, SNAI will definitely capitalise on this great opportunity.”
