PokerStars sportsbook to launch ahead of schedule in Q1
Online gaming consumer business PokerStars is set to launch its new internet sportsbook ahead of schedule during the first quarter of 2015.
Confirmed by owner Amaya Gaming, the sports betting product will launch within the PokerStars poker client in certain markets.
PokerStars will then gradually add more markets, as well as web and mobile versions of the new service, throughout the year.
The news comes after PokerStars in December completed the rollout of its online casino table games offering to players in eligible markets.
The games are available through the new PokerStars 7 platform, which is currently an optional download to players but will become the sole poker client in the future.
PokerStars is also set to launch web and mobile versions of its casino during 2015, in a move that will be supported by a wide-reaching marketing campaign.
Elsewhere, Amaya has also confirmed the opening of the new branded PokerStars LIVE poker room at the City of Dreams integrated casino resort in Manila, the Philippines.
The new site will further strengthen PokerStars’ global network of operations, which include rooms at major casinos in London, Macau and Madrid.
