Metric Gaming names Bertilsson as new president and CEO

24 September 2014

Sports betting products and services provider Metric Gaming has appointed former chairman of the board Peter Bertilsson as its new president and chief executive officer.

Bertilsson, who will relocate to the firm’s Las Vegas headquarters at the end of the month, will take over from Martin de Knijff, who will remain a director and assume the role of head of business and product development.

During his career in the gaming industry, Bertilsson held senior positions at a number of firms such as Boss Media and subsidiary bwin Games, formerly known as Ongame.

“It has been a pleasure serving as Metric’s chairman, and I am thrilled with this opportunity to take over the reins as CEO and help this company reach its full and tremendous potential,” Bertilsson said.

Meanwhile, Metric Gaming has named Louis Castle as chairman of its board of directors, the role vacated by Bertilsson.

Castle will join the company having served as chief strategy officer of Shuffle Master since October 2011, following a six-year spell on the firm’s board.

Prior to this, he also held senior roles at the likes of Zynga, InstantAction and Electronic Arts.

Speaking about his appointment, Castle said: “Metric Gaming has developed some uniquely compelling technology and continues to push the envelope of sports wagering innovation.

“I very much look forward to using my experience in gaming and entertainment software to contribute to Metric’s ongoing success.”
