Mecca Bingo extends with Playtech
Rank Group-owned Mecca Bingo has renewed its bingo and games contract with Playtech.
The multi-year agreement extends a relationship that spans more than a decade, with Playtech Bingo to retain its position as the exclusive provider of bingo and games for Mecca Bingo.
The deal also includes Playtech’s Open Platform, which will allow Mecca to offer its players a selection of Playtech and third-party games to its player base.
“The network is performing well with stakes and active players at their highest ever levels and our licensees have made a great start to 2017,” Playtech’s vice-president UK operation, Daniel Phillips, said.
“Mecca is one of those so we are therefore very pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with the Rank Group and our collaborative approach will help drive their bingo business into the next decade and beyond.”
Colin Cole-Johnson, group director at Rank, added: “It is a suite of products our customers know and love, and this has been an important partnership for Mecca since 2006, so naturally we are pleased that an agreement has been reached to develop this further.”
Meanwhile, Playtech has announced the appointment of Goodbody as joint corporate broker and adviser to the company.
Goodbody will now work alongside Canaccord Genuity, which has been serving as the firm’s corporate broker for some time.
The addition of Goodbody comes after Playtech earlier this month also revealed a number of changes to its senior management team.
While Alex Latner joined the company as its new general counsel, Playtech also named Ron Hoffman as chief executive of its Financials division.
In addition, the company said in a trading update that it expects financial results to be in line with expectations for the 12 months to December 31, 2016, with further growth expected for the current year.
