Malta regulator unveils relationship management system

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has launched a new ‘Licensee Relationship Management System’ in an effort to better communicate both current and prospective licensees.

Developed in partnership with Microsoft, the new service is accessible through a secure and dedicated web portal, and has been designed to simplify and digitise various online and land-based processes.

During the first phase of the project, the MGA will launch online applications for remote gaming licences, as well as online Dynamic Seal URL requests and online submission of Players Liability and Gaming Tax Reports.

The MGA said the system will “empower” gaming operators to electronically track the status of their applications and meet regulatory requirements more efficiently, as well as enhance a two-way communication between the MGA and its customers.

Joseph Cuschieri, executive chairman of the MGA, added: “The MGA is taking another step towards achieving efficiency and innovation in the way it conducts its function as a regulator by applying information technology in regulatory processes.

“This project further aids the Authority in providing a top end service to its licensees and practitioners alike.

“Our main objective remains; that of exceeding the expectations of all our stakeholders at large, and this portal goes a long way in achieving that.”

The next phase of the project will see the new system extended to land-based operations including, but not limited, to casinos, gaming parlours, the national lottery and commercial bingo.
