Kennedy handed CEO role at Scientific Games
Gaming solutions provider Scientific Games has announced the appointment of David Kennedy as its new chief executive officer as part of a restructure of its board of directors.
Under the new structure, the company confirmed it is to split the chairman and chief executive officer roles.
As a result, Kennedy will replace the outgoing A. Lorne Weil in the chief executive officer position with immediate effect, while Ronald Perelman has been appointed chairman.
Kennedy has served as vice-chairman of the Scientific Games board and a member of its executive and finance committee since October 2009, as well as holding an executive role between November 2010 and March 2012.
His latest role was president of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings, while he has also worked for likes of Revlon and The Coca-Cola Company in various senior management and financial roles.
“The Board is confident that he and the company's outstanding management team will accelerate business performance and continue to build a strong, profitable company,” new chairman Perelman said.
Kennedy added: "Scientific Games is well positioned to offer customers a complete suite of products and services, expand opportunities for our employees and drive enhanced value for our stockholders.”
