International Game Technology (IGT) has agreed to provide its sports betting platform to MGM Resorts International in New Jersey.

Under the deal, MGM Resorts will utilise the end-to-end sports betting solution at its Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City land-based facility in the US state.

Borgata is now offering sports bets after New Jersey last week began accepting sports wagers under new state laws.

IGT also powers MGM Resorts’ retail sports betting at 10 Las Vegas Strip properties, as well as mobile sports betting on the playMGM app with IGT PlaySpot technology throughout Nevada.

Renato Ascoli, chief executive North America at IGT, said: “Deployment of IGT's sports betting solution at Borgata demonstrates that we are ready to deliver the products, technology, support and service to make retail and mobile sports betting a reality in any legalised state, today.

“We’re very excited to extend our successful sports betting relationship with MGM Resorts to New Jersey and beyond.”
