Global looks to relaunch Ninja Casino brand in Sweden

Global Gaming has transferred its NinjaCasino.se domain to Finnplay subsidiary Viral Interactive, which could see the brand resume activities in the Swedish market months after the operator's licence was revoked.

This will allow Viral Interactive, which already operates the white label Nano Casino brand for Global in Sweden, to launch a Ninja Casino-branded site in the market.

The transfer is the latest step in a partnership between Global Gaming and Finnplay, through which Finnplay provides the operator with its white label solution for the Swedish market.

It comes after Global Gaming's Swedish operating licence was revoked in June, after the country's gambling regulator Spelinspektionen identified multiple failings in its anti-money laundering and social responsibility controls.

Global has repeatedly insisted that it has been made a scapegoat for the failings of other operators in the market, and claims that the regulator decided to “make an example” of the business.

While it has seen revenue hit badly by the loss of its Swedish licence, and bids to at least stay the revocation fail, chief executive Tobias Fagerlund said the Ninja Casino brand was still a valuable asset.

“We are, of course, aware of Ninja Casino’s enormous value in the Swedish market and it should come as no surprise that we do not want to let its potential go to waste,” Fagerlund explained.

“It is my belief that Ninjacasino.se is in safe hands with Viral Interactive and Finnplay’s proven safe and responsible platform, which also places a great deal of emphasis on entertainment and the pleasure of gaming.”
