GC launches investigation into Mansion Group brands

1 June 2020

The Great Britain Gambling Commission has launched an investigation into M88 and Mansion Europe, while Premier League club AFC Bournemouth has terminated its sponsorship deal with the former.

A Commission spokesperson said that while the operating licences held for each brand had not been revoked, it was investigating "various aspects" of each business' "model and operations".

Mansion Europe held a  remote betting and casino licence, under which it operated the Mansion Bet brand, as well as Casino.com and Slots Heaven.

Meanwhile, Asia-facing subsidiary M88 was previously traded in the UK under a seperate remote betting and casino licence held by Vivaro Entertainment, who also operate the Vbet brand, as well as one held by ProgressPlay, who operate brands including Lottozone and Betsteve. Both of these sites are currently inactive.

AFC Bournemouth announced on Friday (29 May) that its sponsorship with M88 would come to an end. The operator was the club’s main shirt sponsor since the start of the 2017/18 season.

“AFC Bournemouth would like to thank M88 for its support over the past three years,” the club said.

Another club which held a commercial deal with Mansion Bet, rather than M88, said this deal would continue.

The Premier League is set to return to action on 17 June after a suspension since mid-March to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
