Gauselmann Group is set to strengthen its position in the UK market after its Blueprint Gaming arm acquired games developer Project.

UK-based games studio Blueprint will diversify its content portfolio with the addition of Project's titles, which will now be adapted for the iGaming sector.

Blueprint will also integrate Project content into its machine offering to bolster it land-based gambling services.

UK-based Project has been active in the gaming industry for more than 30 years, developing and launching over 50 titles such as ‘Mega Bars’ and ‘Find the Lady Poker’.

As part of the acquisition deal, the Project management team will continue to head up day-to-day activities at its London studio. This will include Matt Cole remaining managing director of the business.

The design and development departments from both Project and Blueprint will also now work closely together to bring new gaming content to the market.

“Project has a strong reputation within the UK retail space and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the Blueprint Gaming family,” Gauselmann’s UK general manager, Sascha Blodau, said.

“The enlarged group will continue to be led by Matt Cole and we look forward to working closely with the whole Project team.”

Tony Boulton, managing director of Project, added: “We have a great team of people and we will benefit from the scale, support and added distribution of the Gauselmann Group.

“This opportunity will enable us to grow and to introduce our proven games to an online audience.”

Financial terms of the acquisition agreement were not disclosed by Gauselmann, Blueprint or Project.
