Fantasy sports operators launch creative digital agency

Fantasy sports providers GFM and cleverTV have joined forces to establish GFMcleverGames, a new creative digital agency that the companies say will be positioned as the largest network of fantasy and prediction games in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The new business will work with various media groups, sports rights-holders and gaming brands to drive engagement and revenue in the regions.

The group already includes a number of major clients such as online betting operator Sky Bet and Uefa, European football’s governing body.

GFM’s Peter Sakal will head up the new business as chief executive officer while Andrew Deeks from cleverTV will take the role of managing director.

To support the launch, GFMcleverGames has unveiled a pipeline of new games and services that will target the mobile, in-play and high frequency gaming sectors.

“I am delighted to announce our new joint venture business since I believe it will significantly enhance our ability to deliver great work to our trusted clients and partners both in the UK, Europe and MENA territories,” Sakal said.

“The combination of a 20-year heritage in absolute reliability of service combined with proven creative talent is very compelling.”

Newly-appointed managing director Deeks added: “We now have exactly the platform we need to build a global sports gaming business. We already offer our clients unique insights into product and commercial performances.

“Now we have the framework to engage multiple other businesses as we expand our footprint globally.”

GFMcleverGames will deliver consolidated operations from Colchester in the UK, with product development and account management operations being managed from studios in central London.
