Philip Easthill has stepped down as secretary general of the European Casino Association (ECA), while the organisation has also announced a new structure for it secretariat.

Easthill officially left the role on September 1, having led the ECA for the past three years. He will now take up the same position at the marine leisure industry body European Boating Industry with immediate effect.

During his tenure as secretary general, Easthill focused on key industry issues such as tackling illegal gambling, anti-money laundering and corporate social responsibility, as well as improving the perception of the licensed land-based casino sector.

“During his time at the ECA, Mr Easthill showed high levels of professionalism bringing the interests of ECA’s members and partners forward with commitment and dedication, achieving our goals and positioning the association as a key stakeholder,” ECA chair Per Jadlung said.

“He leaves the ECA in a very strong position for future growth. While he will be missed, we believe that he will be a true asset for the European Boating Industry. We now look forward to advancing the good work and further defending and promoting the interests of our sector.”

Following Easthill's departure, the ECA will now implement a new structure for its secretariat. Veronika Tisold will act as its executive director, with support from Casinos Austria's corporate social responsiblity offer Hermann Pamminger, who has been named as senior advisor.
