DraftDay acquires customer database from SportsTradex
B2B daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform provider DraftDay has agreed a deal to acquire a database of customers from SportsTradex.
Founded in 2012, SportsTradex has built up a community of players focused on an alternative style of DFS, such as ‘pick ‘em’ games and tiered draft formats.
DraftDay, jointly created by Viggle and Sportech, will now use SportsTradex’s database of customers for its own platform.
“SportsTradex was one of the only other operators with pick'em games; a game style ideal for new DFS players and those current players looking for new tournament experiences," DraftDay president Nic Sulsky said.
“We are excited to partner with the SportsTradex team to spark even quicker growth in DraftDay's pick'em slate, which represents a key product in our alternate tournament catalogue, and which DraftDay's growing list of B2B partners will be able to offer to their customers.”
Ben Lipson, chief executive of SportsTradex, added: “We chose DraftDay because both companies share a vision for daily fantasy sports products that are differentiated from those offered by other DFS operators.
“But most importantly, DraftDay's strong commitment to player safety and the security of its DFS platform made it the logical choice for us.
“As the DFS industry continues to grow and evolve, DraftDay's unique B2B model, featuring the safekeeping of partner databases and unmatched consumer protection measures, will be one of the best ways to capitalise on the excitement around DFS.”
