Deutsche Telekom closes sportsbook

30 June 2016

German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom has closed its online sports betting platform in the country, just over a year after launching the service.

The firm unveiled the Germany-facing service in April last year and the platform had been live until recently.

However, customers visiting the site are now greeted with a message that states they can no longer place bets or deposit funds.

Players can withdraw any remaining funds they may have in their account, with stating that any free credits or bonuses will also be added to players’ betting accounts.

Neither Deutsche Telekom nor have disclosed the reasons behind the move.
