Online betting brand Dafabet has moved to further enhance its presence in the UK football market by entering into a sponsorship deal with English Premier League club Burnley.

The two-year agreement will cover the 2016-17 and 2017-18 season.

Under the multi-million pound deal, a record agreement for the club, Dafabet will benefit from branding placement on the front of Burnley’s playing jerseys.

As part of the agreement, Dafabet has agreed to offer sponsorship space on all club junior jerseys to the club’s community department.

In May, Dafabet also agreed to become the new front-of-shirt sponsor of Scottish Premiership football club Celtic

“This has been a lengthy process, involving many different companies of stature all over the world,” Burnley’s head of commercial affairs, Anthony Fairclough, said.

“It highlights just how far the club has come as a commercial entity across the globe.

“I am particularly pleased Dafabet have also allowed us to project the good work we do in the community onto a world stage, and we thank them for a vision which mirrored our own.”

Burnley will compete in the 2016-17 Premier League season after finishing first in the second-tier Championship division last term and gaining promotion as a result.

Dimitris Karatzas, managing director of online betting and gaming at Dafabet, added: “We’ve been busy in increasing our presence in football and we have no doubt that partnering up with Burnley is yet another step forward, we’ll look forward to supporting the club anyway we can.”
