Australian online betting firm Crownbet and national pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports have joined forces with daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform DraftDay to launch a new fantasy sports website in the country.

Built on the DraftDay platform, the new ‘Draftstars’ sites offer contests dedicated to the Australian Football League (AFL), the top-tier Aussie rules competition in the country.

Draftstars will serve as the official daily fantasy sports partner of the AFL, with exclusive access to match content not available to any other operator.

Over the coming months, the new service will be expanded to feature contests focused on the country’s National Rugby League competition as well as North America’s NBA basketball league.

“Draftstars, built on the DraftDay platform, is a game-changing product, which offers Draftstars players a range of contests to suit everyone, from the sports fanatic to the beginner,” Draftstars chief executive Matt Sanders said.

“Anyone who lives and breathes AFL will love Draftstars for the exciting and engaging digital sporting experience our platform will deliver.”

Rich Roberts, chief executive of DraftDay, added: “DraftDay's award-winning platform and B2B expertise will provide Draftstars with a market-leading daily fantasy sports technology platform, incorporating essential consumer-protection tools to enhance the player experience and increase brand loyalty.”
