Carrion takes top marketing role at PokerStars

Amaya has appointed David Carrion as director of marketing for its PokerStars business.

Amaya has appointed David Carrion as director of marketing for its PokerStars business.

The move represents an internal appointment, with Carrion having been with Rational Group – the parent company of PokerStars – since January 2010.

Carrion was recently group director of performance marketing at Amaya, prior to which he was director digital services and director live operations Latam at Rational Group.

Amaya completed its takeover of Rational Group in August 2014.

In a statement, Amaya said: “PokerStars has appointed David Carrion as director of marketing to lead the global strategy of the PokerStars brand, including advertising, digital, social media, content marketing and live events.”

Carrion is due to take on his new role from July 1.
