Betegy signs sports data predictions deal with China’s SunLoto
Digital sports data technology start-up Betegy has agreed a three-year deal to provide its patented football sports betting prediction software to SunLoto, a licensed operator of the Chinese Welfare and Sports Lottery.
SunLoto, operator of the Wozhongla website, will gain access to Betegy’s API, which provides data-driven predictions on football events based on statistical algorithms in over 20 leagues around the world.
The paid-for service is due to go live ahead of this summer’s Fifa World Cup national team football tournament in Brazil.
The agreement, which will see Betegy become one of the first European companies to enter into the Chinese sports betting market, also includes an option to extend.
“China is viewed by many sports betting and sports data companies in the west as the panacea for growth,” Betegy co-founder Alex Kornilov said.
“Sports data prediction tools are growing in popularity at an exponential rate, driven by tech-savvy sports bettors and fans using smart phones and other devices.
“These customers demand accurate information to satisfy their immediate needs whether for betting or for fun. By signing this agreement with Wozhongla, we have a trusted and reliable strategic partner in China.”
Gao Lei, chief executive officer of Wozhongla, added: “The requirement for additional sport services such as predictions has been a focus for Wozhongla. We have reviewed other providers but ultimately selected Betegy due to their proven track record, patented technology and professionalism.”
