Akamon Entertainment completes ‘product organisation’
Social casino company Akamon Entertainment has completed what its describes as a ‘product organisation’ by appointing Alex Cohan as its new chief product officer and acquiring a stake in an Israel studio.
Cohen will join the company from Quickspin, where he served as head of game design for the last two years.
In his new role, he will assume responsibility for Akamon’s game portfolio, which includes casino, bingo and traditional gaming.
Elsewhere, Akamon has agreed to purchase a 25% stake in a studio based in Tel Aviv, Israel, with an option to acquire 100% of the facility.
The studio, which was previously known as Xpinator, will now be known as Akamon Israel and will house 10 of the company’s game designers and developers.
The company has appointed Zvika Alon as its Israel head of studio to oversee operations at the new site.
Alon, as well as the teams at Akamon’s two other studios in Barcelona and Valencia, will report directly to Cohen under the new structure.
Vicenç Martí, chief executive officer of Akamon, said: “These are the most profound changes. (I am proud) of having had the fortune to bring to people of the calibre of Alex Cohen and Avika Alon into the Akamon family.
“(Akamon’s products) will reflect the phenomenal addition of talent Alex and Zvika’s leadership will bring.”
