Our 2019 summit sees us celebrating the 10th birthday of the series that started in the Isle of Man on 23 November 2010 – you can take a look back at the report from that summit here. We started out with the aim of working with the industry to air and address challenges, celebrate successes and encourage collaboration. With regulators and industry leaders clear on the need for better collaboration and communication in order to improve consumer experience and perception of the sector, our theme of ‘Raising Standards Together’ continues to be central as we plan our programme for 3 October.
We will include our key summit sessions looking at the Isle of Man’s proposition and plans, M&A activity and the operators’ view of the future, but are also aiming to take a balanced look at the regulatory and research activity within the sector, both in the IOM/UK and more widely.
With the UKGC’s publication in April of their National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms, and increased engagement from the US and other rapidly evolving markets - with governments, regulators and operators looking at both the potential benefits and harms of their emerging sectors - then the need to put the consumer enjoyment and safety at the heart of the industry is clearer than ever. We will bring together a distinguished and diverse mix of speakers and panellists to explore how best to address that need.
We will also be looking back to our first summit, and bringing together some of the key speakers and panellists from that event to re-examine their predictions and pronouncements with the benefit of hindsight, as well as asking all of those in attendance to look ahead to the next 10 years and predict what they might bring – we hope you will join us.
