BtoBet's Alessandro Fried joins Brazil webinar panel

6 May 2020

Alessandro Fried, BtoBet’s chief executive officer, will be joining a panel comprising key industry figures and legislators for the Brazilian market to discuss the current and potential changes in the country’s gambling sector.

Together with Deputy Newton Cardoso, president of the Tourism Commission; Itamar Pereira, technical manager SECAP from the Ministry of Economy; and André Gelfi, Suaposta’s managing partner, Fried will be reviewing the current gaming and betting scenario in Brazil and how it can evolve in the future.

The BtoBet-sponsored iGB webinar, Brazil: the impact of the pandemic on the sports betting roll-out, will also offer an in-depth update of the regulatory process currently being carried out by the Secretariat of Evaluation, Planning, Energy and Lottery (SECAP), a division of Brazil’s Ministry of Economy, which is responsible for the process of developing the sports betting regulations in the country.

The regularisation of the Brazilian gambling industry has generated a lot of interest in the gambling community, with a report put together by KPMG on behalf of the Remote Gaming Association (RGA) suggesting a combined online betting and gaming market would be worth up to $2.1bn (£1.66bn) annually.

Many experts also deem the Brazilian market to be attractive because all licences will be issued at the federal level, with one set of legislation for the whole country. This is different to what is happening in a lot of new markets such as the US and Argentina.

The hour-long webinar will take place on 14 May 2020 at 15:00 BST.

Anyone interested in joining the the free webinar to see what the experts have to say on how the local industry will evolve in the coming months should email sales@btobet.com. Registration is also open here.
