Video short: Pragmatic Play launches new slot and targets niche markets
Pragmatic Play is taking advantage of its smaller scale to grow its online casino offering by targeting niche markets, as compared to larger companies its "decision-making process is much faster”, Yossi Barzely, head of sales and business development for Pragmatic Play, has told iGaming Business.
Speaking at the iGaming Super Show (iGSS), as part of the iGB video short series, Barzely explained how Pragmatic Play had expanded since its launch in 2015, now employing 75 people across its headquarters in Malta and offices in locations including Romania, Ukraine and India.
“The philosophy of our company and our company values are made up of two things. One is the product, where we are looking after the operators’ players to make sure they are having the best experience and track their behaviour to improve user experience.
“The other is that we have services where we look after the operators, so we are really listening to their wants and needs because they understand both their players and their markets, so then we can use that to work accordingly,” he said.
Pragmatic Play was exhibiting its latest video slot, Jurassic Giants, at iGSS and its large dinosaur mascot was hard to miss, making a memorable impression on the crowds. Barzely revealed, apart from its pet T-Rex, what the driving force was behind the company’s presence at the event.
“The reason we came to iGSS is because we have many partners at the show. We wanted to create some pre-release hype and buzz for what is coming and of course for those partners that we aren’t integrated with yet, so they also know what is going on”, he said.
Barzely added that there was still a lot for the company to do to build the online side of their business and that it was not only targeting licensed markets, such as the UK and Italy, but more niche markets as well. “We recently got our Bahamas licence and we want to explore niche markets and penetrate those before we take our next steps, which will be land-based and involve additional products.” he said.
Hinting that the company had some surprises in store, Barzely added: “We have some nice things in our back pocket.”
