Scientific Games has appointed Phil Horne as the new chief executive of its SG Gaming subsidiary business.

Horne has served as managing director of SG Gaming Group since March 2013 and will assume his new role on March 31, following the scheduled retirement of chairman Steve Frater.

Prior to his time with the Scientific Games subsidiary, which is a leading provider of gaming solutions for the licensed betting office, arcade and bingo sectors in the UK as well as a content provider for the interactive gaming sector, Horne enjoyed a spell as gaming director for Gala Coral.

“I am very proud to now be leading SG Gaming through to the next phase of growth and ensuring our customers continue to benefit from one of the industry’s leading gaming solutions packages,” Horne said.

“It has been a privilege working with Steve; he is truly an industry innovator and will be greatly missed at SG Gaming.”

Commenting on Horne’s appointment as chief executive, soon-to-depart Frater added: “I am confident that SG Gaming will continue to go from strength to strength under Phil Horne’s leadership.”
