SBTech has appointed Richard Carter as its new chief executive.

Former director of research at Deutsche Bank, Carter will replace the outgoing Itai Zak, who had headed up the company since 2011.

Carter will assume responsibilities as chief executive on March 1.

“I am delighted to be joining SBTech as chief executive, the business has exceptionally talented people and a clear strategy for becoming the industry’s most trusted and innovative sports betting software partner.

“I look forward to leading the company as it grows and delivers for its customers, its people, its partners and its shareholders.”

John Anderson, chairman of SBTech added: “Over the last few years, SBTech has achieved significant growth and global penetration, successfully strengthening its position as a market leader.

“Richard will focus on reinforcing the impressive momentum gained by SBTech; advancing the company to the next level.”

Meanwhile, SBTech has agreed a deal to begin distributing titles from slots firm Quickspin.

Under the agreement, Quickspin’s full suite of slot products will be distributed via SBTech’s Chameleon360 online gaming platform and the new SBTech Touch mobile gaming product.

The content roll-out will include various titles, such as new releases ‘Second Strike’, ‘Razortooth’ and the soon-to-be-launched ‘Genie’s Touch’.

Daniel Lindberg, chief executive of Quickspin, said: “We’re delighted to have reached an agreement with SBTech; it will be very beneficial to both companies.

“We have some award-winning content, which is popular in a number of territories, with more on the way in 2016, but SBTech’s sophisticated platform and global reach will greatly ease integration with multiple new operating partners.”
