SBTech to expand US presence with new office

SBTech has announced plans to open a new office in the US as part of an effort to strengthen its position in the country.

The facility is due to open early next year and will be used to support the firm’s US operations.

SBTech is a member of the American Gaming Association betting taskforce, a group that is lobbying for wider legalisation of sports betting in the US.

Sports betting is currently only legal in Nevada, but a number of other states have declared an interest in introducing a regulated market should federal law be changed.

New Jersey is leading the effort to overturn the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA), the main obstacle that is blocking the path of wider regulation.
