Paf has appointed Christer Fahlstedt, formerly of Betting Promotion Sweden, as its new chief executive.

Fahlstedt joins the firm following the departure of incumbent chief executive Anders Ingves in January. Paf said it “needed a different type of leader to successfully expand internationally”.

Finance director Johan Rothberg had been serving as acting chief executive in the interim.

Fahlstedt most recently served as chief executive of Betting Promotion Sweden and also spent time in the same role with Tain.

“One strength is that Paf is successful both online and offline. When all the channels gradually merge, this will prove to be a great asset,” Fahlstedt said.

“I'm going to focus on the things that matter the most, and the user experience will be a top priority.”

Jarl Danielsson, chairman of the Paf board, added: “There have been good candidates in the process, but the entire board agrees Christer Fahlstedt is the person best suited for this assignment.”
