Paddy Power Betfair hires former Tipico CEO Jan Bolz as new independent director

Paddy Power Betfair has announced industry veteran Jan Bolz as its new independent director.

Paddy Power Betfair has announced industry veteran Jan Bolz as its new independent director.

Bolz was previously chief executive at European sports betting operator Tipico Sportwetten.

In his new role, Bolz will lead guidance with regards to international expansion projects at Paddy Power Betfair, as well as ongoing marketing and commercial initiatives.

Bolz has focused his career on commercial development and marketing, and also served as the vice president of commerce for games developer Electronic Arts, as well as managing director of Bertelsmann Music Group in Munich.

Gary McGann, chairman of Paddy Power Betfair, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jan as a non-executive director. He brings a wealth of global experience across a number of different industry groups, most recently in the sports betting industry where he led the very progressive development of Tipico to its successful sale in 2016. His background and experience will be of significant benefit to the board.”

In addition, Paddy Power Betfair recently appointed former WorldPay chief executive Peter Jackson as its new group chief executive.
