New Jersey posts online gaming revenue increase in April
New Jersey reported online gaming revenues for the month of April increased by 22% to $20.8m (€18.8m/£16.1m) from $16.9m in April 2016.
April 2017 did see a drop from March 2017 when revenues of $21.7m were recorded from online gambling, however online gaming revenue for the year-to-date stood at $80.1m, up from $61.8m for the same period in 2016.
In other areas, casino total win was $191m for April, a drop of 3.6% from $198m for the same month in 2016.
Overall gaming win for April 2017 was $211.7m, down slightly from $215m for April 2016. Meanwhile overall gaming win for the year-to-date increased by 3.8% from the previous year to reach $843.6m.
New Jersey Senator Raymond Lesniak, who has advocated for the expansion of igaming and betting and racing expansion in the state, recently announced that he was looking to succeed Chris Christie as state governor next year.
