New Jersey online revenue down as Delaware sets new record
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) has revealed that the US state suffered a month-on-month drop in online gaming revenue during May, while Delaware was able to break its own internet gambling record for the third consecutive month.
Online revenue in New Jersey last month totalled $16.5 million (€14.7 million), which was up 32.6% on the $12.5 million posted in the same month last year, but down from the monthly record of $17 million set in April of this year.
For the year-to-date, through to the end of May, online revenue now stands at $78.4 million, up 305% on last year.
The NJDGE also revealed that casino win in May was down 2.5% year-on-year to $203.3 million, with total gaming win for the state in the month also falling 0.6% to $221.1 million.
New Jersey’s total year-to-date figure now stands at $954.3 million, up 1.6% on the $939.6 million posted at the same point last year.
Meanwhile, the Delaware Lottery has announced that the state was able to set a new online gambling revenue record in May, collecting a total of $282,112 from players.
The May result beats the previous record of $267,801, which was set in April this year.
Slots served as the main source of income, generating $187,547 in revenue, with table games responsible for $54,227 and poker $40,337.
The poker result represents the state’s best performance since April 2015, when Delaware was able to bring in $48,552 in online poker revenue.
