JPJ Group among latest Swedish licensees
Swedish gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen has awarded iGaming licences to five more operators including JPJ Group ahead of the country's regulated iGaming market opening next month.
Bayton Ltd, Genesis Global and L & L Europe have also been successful in securing online casino licenes, with Latvian operator Optibet awarded sports betting and casino certification.
The regulator has granted JPJ Group's Dumarca Gaming subsidiary an online gaming licence to launch its Vera&John and Intercasino brands in the re-regulated market.
“Ensuring that our gaming platform is fully compliant with all of Sweden's licensing requirements has been a challenge which our technology team has successfully handled within a very short time frame,” Simon Wykes, chief executive of JPJ's Jackpotjoy Operations subsidiary commented. “We now look forward to addressing the opportunity that a regulated and licensed Swedish market will present in 2019.”
Malta-based Bayton, meanwhile, has been awarded an online gaming licence for its Jackpot City Casino, Ruby Fortune and Spin Casino brands.
Swedish-facing operator Genesis Global has been granted approval to roll out a number of brands in Sweden, including sites for its Casinojoy, Casinocruise, Casinogods, Genesiscasino, Pelaa, Sloty, Spinit and Vegashero brands under its online gaming licence.
L&L Europe, which already holds licences from the UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gamign Authority, will launch a mixture of dot.com and dot.se brands in Sweden via its online gaming licence.
Allbritishcasino, Casinocasino, Funcasino, Hypercasino, Karlcasino, Nobonuscasino, Norgecasino, Norskeautomater, Yakocasino and Yeticasino will all go live as dot.com platforms. The company will also roll out the Funcasino, Karlcasino, Norgecasino and Yeticasino brands with dot.se domains.
Finally, Latvian operator Optibet, via its Enlabs AB subsidiary, has been issued an online gaming and betting licence, under which it will launch its Bestbet, Bestbingo and Bestpoker brands as dot.com sites, as well as Optibet as both dot.com and dot.se platforms.
Since announcing its first licences on November 30, the Lotteriinspektionen has awarded a total of 31 licences to 25 operators. Re-regulation will come into effect from January 1, 2019.
Last week, Betway, Betclic Everest and The Stars Group were all issued licences, joining the likes of GVC Holdings, Kindred Group, Betsson and LeoVegas among approved operators. The regulator is expected to award further licences before the end of the year.
Svenska Spel’s Sport & Casino subsidiary has also been awarded a licence as it prepares to compete with private operators for the first time. The current monopoly operator has also been approved to continue as the exclusive provider of lottery games in Sweden.
