Werner Becher, spokesman for the Interwetten board of directors, has said that 2015 was the most successful year in the firm’s history, after the online operator was able to achieve year-on-year revenue and turnover growth.

Net gaming revenue for the 12 months through to December 31 came in at €50.2 million ($54.4 million), an increase of 21% on the amount posted in the previous year.

Gross gaming revenue was up 19% year-on-year to €55 million, while betting turnover also increased by 20% to €951 million.

Interwetten’s full-year results were boosted by an impressive performance by the operator in the fourth quarter, during which net gaming revenue increased by 32% year-on-year.

Reflecting on the results, Becher said that the company was able to post these positive figures despite having withdrawn from a number of European markets in the past year.

“Regulatory conditions forced us to withdraw from the UK, Hungary, Portugal and Bulgaria last year,” Becher said.

“Fortunately none of these countries have been core markets for Interwetten before.

“Nevertheless, thanks to strong investments in our unique products developed in-house and increased efficiency in marketing and CRM, 2015 will go down as by far the most successful year in the company’s history.”
