Supplier rolls out sportsbook management solution for Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians

Sports betting solutions provider Betgenius has rolled out a range of trading, data and risk management solutions to support the sports betting offering launched by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

The tribe’s sportsbook is powered by IGT’s PlaySpot platform, and complemented by complete sports betting management solution from Betgenius. This includes live data feeds, price management for pre-match and in-play odds across all major sports, as well as a bespoke price and risk management service.

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians has launched sports betting at its Pearl River Resort and Gold Moon Casino venues, as well as via a satellite site at the Bok Homa Casino in the state. The initial launch at Pearl River marked the first time a tribal operator outside Nevada had entered the US sports betting market following the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in May.

While Mississippi currently only allows betting on casino property, either over the counter betting or via on-premises mobile apps, Betgenius’ agreement with the tribe comes with provisions for wider online and mobile roll-outs.

“By leveraging Betgenius’ expertise in sportsbook management and breadth of high quality content, Pearl River Resorts has established a premium sports betting offering,” Jack Davison, chief commercial officer of Betgenius’ parent company Genius Sports Group, said.

“The legalisation of sports betting presents tribal casinos with a major opportunity to diversify their revenue streams and take a leading role in the fast-moving, tech-driven sector of sports betting,” Davison explained. “Through this partnership, we are extremely proud to play a role in enabling the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians to be the first tribal casino to do just that.”

Neal Atkinson, director of table games, sportsbook, poker and bingo operations for the tribe’s Mississippi casinos, added: “We look forward to this partnership and are working with Betgenius to tailor their services for this exciting new Southern US sports betting market.”

The sportsbook offering is powered by International Game Technology’s (IGT) sports betting solution PlaySpot, a product managed by its PlayDigital division. The supplier’s partnership with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians is the first time it has partnered a tribal gaming operator to launch sports betting products.

Enrico Drago, IGT’s senior vice president for the PlayDigital division, said the collaboration with Betgenius had resulted in the launch of “a history-making sports betting solution” for the operator.

“Betgenius’ odds making and risk management expertise and technology were the ideal complements to IGT’s market-ready PlayShot sports betting platform and our position as the leading end-to-end gaming supplier,” he said.
