Betfair has become the latest online gaming operator to announce that it is to withdraw its services from Poland.

The move comes in response to new national gambling laws, which are due to come into effect this week.

Updated regulations state that operators not willing to apply for a new licence, which include a 12% tax on wagering turnover, must cease operations in the country by April 1.

Last week, William Hill confirmed it would pull out of Poland, while the likes of Bet365, EnergyBet and Pinnacle have also announced their withdrawal ahead of the deadline.

Totalizator Sportowy is to remain a monopoly in the country, with complete control over its online gaming market.
