French igaming regulator ARJEL has entered into a partnership with the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS).

Under the deal, ARJEL will work with GLMS, a Swiss-based non-profit association that brings together 29 state lotteries to combat the manipulation of sports events, on a series of initiatives.

The two organisations will share information related to irregular sports betting patterns picked up by surveillance systems operated by either ARJEL or GLMS.

The partnership protocol will flag up data such as the value of the stake placed, the likely outcome and the location where the bet was placed.

In a statement, ARJEL said: “This new partnership is another step forward to fight against the manipulation of sports competitions in relation with sports betting.”
