WorldSpreads enlarges UK management team

Irish financial spreadbetting firm WorldSpreads Group has expanded its management team with a trio of new appointments, all of whom previously held senior roles with London-based rival CMC Markets.

Previously Executive Director for CMC Markets, Roger Hynes has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for the Dublin-based firm’s UK-regulated WorldSpreads Limited subsidiary.

Hynes is also set to take up the roles of Executive Director for WorldSpreads Group and WorldSpreads Limited once regulatory approval has been granted and stated that he is keen to expand the brand within the spreadbetting and contracts for difference markets.

“I am looking forward to bringing my twelve years experience of the contracts for difference and spreadbetting markets to WorldSpreads and ensuring the Group becomes a major player, not just in the UK, but on a global basis,” said Hynes.

In addition, WorldSpreads Group has announced the appointment of Geoff Langham as Chief Operations Manager for its UK business while Dominic Bacon will now serve as General Counsel and Head Of Compliance. Both will also take seats on the board of WorldSpreads Limited once regulatory approval has been received.

“These are exciting times for WorldSpreads as we seek to build on our recent strong growth in our UK and international markets,” said Conor Foley, Chief Executive Officer for WorldSpreads Group.

“I am sure that the new executive team will, with our existing innovative and entrepreneurial approach, drive our market share to a level where we will be challenging the more traditional contracts for difference and spreadbet providers.”
