Thew becomes Team PokerStars Pro

Isle Of Man-licensed PokerStars.com, one of the world’s largest online poker rooms, has announced the addition of talented British player Julian Thew to its Team PokerStars Pro.

Thew is originally from Nottingham and officially joined Team PokerStars Pro, which also includes World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelet holders Peter Eastgate, Joe Hachem and Daniel Negreanu, ahead of the PokerStars.com UKIPT Manchester event on February 11.

Thew is one of the world’s most respected players and has cemented his reputation as a professional with successes across Europe and the US. His most notable victory was at Baden’s European Poker Tour event in season four where he walked away with €670,800. He has also triumphed in big buy-in events in the UK and Las Vegas with career tournament earnings totalling almost $2.5 million.

Thew is joining four other Brits in John Duthie, Vicky Coren, Jude Ainsworth and JP Kelly as members of Team PokerStars Pro and is currently his country’s top player on the European Poker Tour tournament leaderboard in twelfth spot.
