American lottery operator Scientific Games Corporation has announced the appointment of Ian Timmis as Chief Executive Officer for its Games Media and The Global Draw Limited wholly-owned subsidiaries.

New York City-based Scientific Games revealed that Timmis will report to Steve Frater, who is continuing in his role as the two subordinate’s Executive Chairman, while initially focusing on developing a growth strategy for The Global Draw's international business.

Timmis will also oversee the integration of the VideoBet gaming platform into Games Media and The Global Draw following the recently announced international partnership with Playtech to design and promote new integrated gaming solutions.

“This is an exciting new role to support the long-term growth and development of our two business divisions in their respective markets,” said Frater.

“Ian is a widely experienced senior executive with extensive international experience in a variety of industries and proven leadership capability at the highest level. We look forward to welcoming him on board.”

Timmis previously served as Group General Manager Of Corporate Development for Aristocrat Leisure in Australia and played a key role in developing long-term strategies including re-engineering the firm’s supply chain, extending its product range and completing a number of significant acquisitions.
