08 July 2009

Leading poker publication Bluff Europe has revealed that its third annual Poker In The Park festival next month will feature a lecture from Derek Kelly, the founder of the famous Gutshot Club in London and the man behind Ireland’s new Voodoo Card Club.
Europe’s largest annual poker event, Poker In The Park will take place from five o’clock in the afternoon until half-past nine in the evening on August 13 from the heart of London’s Leicester Square. The action will carry on over August 14 from noon until half-past nine in the evening while top professional players including Neil Channing, Nick Persaud, Ian Frazer, Paul Jackson and Kara Scott will be signing autographs and answering questions.
For his part, Kelly will be at Poker In The Park to deliver a 30-minute lecture on the growth of modern poker in Britain and Ireland while also signing copies of his latest book, Tales Of A Degenerate Poker Player. His unique role in the history of poker in Great Britain and Ireland will be a trip down memory lane for long-time UK players while enlightening new enthusiasts as how the sport got where it is today.
