Poker Academy Kicks Off This Saturday
22 April 2009

Leading poker magazine Bluff Europe has announced that all of the preparations are in place for the first stop of its inaugural Poker Academy lecture series, which is due to take place this Sunday in Manchester.
The Poker Academy series offer players the chance to ‘learn from the pros’ and will begin on April 26 at 235 Casino before moving on to Birmingham, Dublin and London.
The Manchester stop will see professional players Ian ‘Raiser’ Frazer and Paul ‘Action’ Jackson conduct three hours of interactive lectures assisted by poker author Alex Rousso. This will be followed by a poker tournament in which players can ask Jackson and Frazer for their advice during live play.
Bluff Europe revealed that the lectures in Manchester would cover some of the sport’s most crucial concepts such as the fundamental theory of poker, luck and variance, dealing with defeat and bankroll management.
“This is a great opportunity for intermediate players to come along and improve their game by learning from some of the best players in the country and hopefully have a lot of fun at the same time,” said Rousso.
Bluff revealed that the sport of poker is burgeoning in Manchester and that 235 Casino was the natural venue for its event as it is the city’s premier luxury gaming, dining and live music club. The casino boasts contemporary interiors, classic and electronic gaming, stylish bars, an intimate music venue and two distinctive restaurants.
Bluff stated that there are still tickets available for all four stops of the series and that interested parties should visit BluffEurope.com/PokerAcademy for more information.
