Norway Testing Online Problem Gambling Service

Norway’s State gambling monopoly, Norsk Tipping AS, has announced that it is piloting a new online problem gambling aid developed by Swedish firm Spelinstitutet.

The new tool is designed to help gamblers determine whether they are at risk of developing an unhealthy addiction and is also being trialled by Veikkaus, Svenska Spel, RAY, INL and Danske Spil.

The test consists of a series of questions related to problem gambling with answers based on players’ own judgment about their habits. After taking the test, players are then provided with feedback through an advanced ‘communication platform’.

In addition, Spelinstitutet has also created an interface making it easier to deliver facts and figures to operators using the service.
