NetPlay TV Acquires Freeview Licence

British firm NetPlay TV has revealed that it has become the first interactive gaming company to acquire a digital terrestrial television licence in order to operate a 24-hour dedicated Freeview channel in the UK.
The London and Lancaster-based firm stated that it would now broadcast its services including SuperCasino.com and Live Bingo on Freeview Channel 48 from January 8.
According to a report from the Reuters news agency, NetPlay TV had been buying spare capacity on the Freeview platform from other broadcasters such as Virgin and Nuts TV. NetPlay said that Freeview is the UK’s largest digital television platform with more than 15.3 million users.
'NetPlay TV now broadcasts its services including Supercasino.com and Live Bingo on three of the four digital television platforms, Freeview, Sky and Freesat, giving it a total addressable audience of over 23 million homes in the UK,' read a statement from NetPlay TV.
