Antigua-based financial and healthcare services technology company M2 Global Limited has announced the formation of its M2 Europe division to manage and solidify its presence across the continent as a leading prepaid debit card programme manager and processor.

M2 Global recently purchased UK-based Altair Technologies Limited, which was a specialist in prepaid card programme design, implementation and management, and stated that this acquisition would further strengthen its customer base and market position.

”M2 Global is widely regarded as an experienced, flexible and secure prepaid card processing firm and will bring Altair’s organisation into the new M2 Europe,” read a statement from M2 Global.

“This move strengthens sales, marketing, customer support and account management for all of M2’s clients and brings valuable resources close to key financial institutions, customers, suppliers and resellers.”

“Under the M2 Europe banner, we look forward to the continued development and improvement of the prepaid card processing business,” said Joel Harris, President for M2 Financial and Chief Executive Officer for the new M2 Europe subsdiary.

“Altair’s processing certifications, intellectual property and technical expertise will provide additional building blocks for future products and position us to address merging opportunities in the rapidly growing global prepaid card market.”

M2 Global revealed that executives from both organisations see the purchase of Altair as an opportunity to build stronger relationships with global clients served by each organisation.

“The acquisition follows the repositioning of Altair Technologies and provides M2 Europe with the foundation required to thrive in the global prepaid card marketplace,” said Lee Britton, a founding partner for Altair.
