Jones leaves AbsolutePoker.com
02 June 2010

American model turned poker player Lacey Jones recently announced that she has walked away from her sponsorship deal with Kahnawake-licensed AbsolutePoker.com after only ten months.
The Texas-born player made the revelation during a recent episode of Bryan Micon’s Cold Call Show radio programme before confirming it in a subsequent Twitter feed but has not offered a reason.
The 31-year-old learned the game of poker as a child while on family vacations to the seaside in South Carolina and subsequently got her first big break after being hired as a model to play at an ESPN tournament in 2005. She was then approached by AbsolutePoker.com and worked with professional player Mark Seif in order to perfect her game.
Since then, she has balanced a lucrative modelling career that included an appearance on the cover of Bluff magazine with playing and hosting several television poker shows covering events such as the World Series Of Poker, US Poker Bowl and the Borgata Poker Open.
Jones’ move away from AbsolutePoker.com could have something to do with the University Of Arizona graduate’s recent agreement to serve as a spokesperson for the Canadian Poker Tour along with a separate sponsorship deal with KSINO Clothing.
“Today is a new chapter of my life and I’ve never been more excited,” read Jones’ Twitter feed.
“Get ready for some big things everyone.”
